POKHARA: The huge Lord Shiva statue built in Pokhara has now become a popular destination for local tourists.
A 52-feet tall huge statue has been built by the local community in Pokhara-22 Pumdikot.
The statue is drawing religious travelers.
The statue was created with a 30-year right of occupation on 22 ropani property held by the Nepal government.
Other projects, including Nepal’s alleged tallest statue, are expected to cost 400 million to complete.
It is estimated that more than half of the work has been completed.
Hilltank Pvt. Ltd.’s Managing Director, Kamal Jain, backed the Shiva statue.
The statue was brought from Mathura, India, and is composed of fiber on the outside and steel on the inside.
After collecting more than 600 million in cash and products through Mahayagna, construction of the statue began in 2073.
Various organizations, including the union, state, and local governments, contributed to the creation of the statue.
The statue was supposed to be finished in five years, but as of COVID-19, it took a little longer.
There will be 108 Shiva Lingas, 108 Swargadwari Stairs, Sumeru Mountain, Guru Maharaj Ashram, Hariyali Garden, Peace Pillar, Senior Citizen Meeting Center, Meditation Center, and other structures completed.
Some structures have been built.
