KATHMANDU: Spanish club Sevilla has won the Europa League title.
In last night’s final match, Sevilla won the Europa League title for the seventh time after defeating the Italian club Roma in a penalty shootout 4-1.
After a 1-1 tie after 90 minutes, the match was extended for 30 minutes in extra time.
As no goals were scored during extra time, the game was decided by a penalty shootout.
With this victory, Sevilla has won the Europa League trophy for the seventh time.
Sevilla has previously won the Europa League in 2006, 2007, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2020.
Similarly, Roma reached the Europa League final for the second time and finished as runners-up both times.
Roma previously finished as runners-up in the Europa League in 1991.
