Rubina Chhetry hit 29 unbroken runs off 21 balls for Nepal.
Openers Kavita Kunwar and Sita Rana Magar got Nepal off to a terrific start and laid the groundwork for victory. They scored 33 runs in 42 balls for the first wicket.
Kavita Kunwar hit two fours and scored 26 runs off 43 balls. Sita Rana Magar, another opener, scored 23 runs off 22 balls, including two fours and one six.
Bindu Rawal was caught out for 17 runs off 18 balls, with two fours. Yakkan Khadka was unbeaten in two runs.
Malaysians Aisya Eleesa, Nik Nur, and Winifred Anne each took one wicket.
Malaysia, which won the toss and batted first, scored 96 runs in 20 overs, losing 5 wickets.
Mas Elysa Yasmin Zulkifli led Malaysia with 28 runs in 34 balls and two fours. Winifred Duraisingam was bowled out for 20 runs off 26 balls, with three fours.
Wan Julia was dismissed for 20 off 35 balls. Hamizah Hashim scored 14 runs off 16 balls to remain undefeated.
Rubina Chhetry, Nepal’s captain, grabbed two wickets, while Indu Burma and Kavita Kunwar each took one.
