KATHMANDU:The case against cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane is being heard.

The case against Lamichhane, who is accuseed of rape, has been scheduled for today’s hearing in Kathmandu District Court.

Earlier, in Judge Phanindra Parajuli’s courtroom, the date of birth proof given by Lamichhane’s lawyer in the argument over the victim’s age was ordered to be returned.

As this case was not resolved in the case, the hearing was postponed despite the fact that the date for the final hearing had been established multiple times.

Even though the Supreme Court ordered that Lamichhane’s case be given priority, the district court has yet to rule. Lamichhane is charged with raping a minor.

According to the charge sheet, on the night of Bhadra 5 (Aug 21), Sandeep brought her to a hotel in Sinamangal and raped her many times. On behalf of the minor, a police complaint was filed on Bhadra 21 (Sept 6).

The final hearing will determine whether Sandeep will be acquitted or convicted and sentenced to prison. But if a definitive verdict cannot be reached today, Sandeep will be in big trouble. Sandeep is hesitant to travel to Africa with the national squad as of the case.
