1.5 billion allocation for President Chure Conservation Program

KATHMANDU: The government intends to establish community forests and protected areas as tourist destinations.
Finance Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat mentioned this when presenting the budget for the fiscal year 2080/081.
He stated that the Chure Conservation Master Plan will be executed through the President’s Chure Conservation Program, including cooperation from the Union, State, and municipal levels.
He also stated that measures such as bamboo planting, pond protection, and landslide prevention will be implemented to protect water and land. The President Chure Conservation Program has been awarded 1.5 billion dollars.
He said, ‘Community forests and protected areas will be developed as tourist destinations. Chure Conservation Master Plan will be implemented through the President’s Chure Conservation Program with the participation of Union, State and local levels.
Under this, bamboo planting, ponds, landslide control, etc. programs will be conducted to protect water and land. 1.5 billion allocated for the President Chure protection program.’
