KATHMANDU: Kazinstan advanced to the finals of the NSC-Kava International Women’s Volleyball Tournament in Kathmandu after defeating Nepal.

Kazakhstan won the second semi-final match on Friday at the National Sports Council (NSC) Covered Hall in Tripureshwor. Kazakhstan won 3-2 against home team Nepal. Nepal easily won the second and third sets after losing the first. Kazakhstan, on the other hand, won the fourth set and advanced in the tournament. Kazakhstan advanced to the final after taking the deciding fifth set.

Nepal lost the first competitive set 30-28. Nepal easily won the second set by a score of 25-16. The third set was won by Nepal, 25-15. Kazakhstan won the fourth set 25-18, advancing the match to the fifth set.

Kazakhstan won the fifth and deciding set 15-7, confirming their spot in the final. Kazakhstan qualified for the finals with the victory. In the final, Kazakhstan will face the victor of the first semi-final match. India advanced to the finals after defeating Uzbekistan in a set of 30 on Friday.

The lost Nepal will play for third place against Uzbekistan, the defeated team from the first semi-final.

The ongoing competition is being held with the special support of NSC and is being organized by the Nepal Volleyball Association.

The competition includes Nepal, Bangladesh, the Maldives, India, Sri Lanka, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan.
