KATHMANDU: Gyan Bahadur Shahi, chief whip of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), has sought the formation of a parliamentary inquiry committee to look into the Jalhari affair in Pashupati.

He stated that an investigation committee should be formed immediately.

He said, ‘The government should form an investigation committee to determine whether it is gold or copper. And the government should respond today. Our opinion is that a committee should have been formed. This issue is not over, this issue will be over only then. In fact, whether it is gold or brass, the government should answer. Is it by forming a committee or by forming a constitutional commission? Is it by activating the authority? It is also an attack on religious faith. We do not believe that the government will investigate tomorrow. The Prime Minister should investigate today.’

He further said that by raising concerns in Parliament regarding the flooding of the Pashupatinath temple, religious beliefs were under threat.
