Banphikot Jeep accident: 5 dead, 10 injured

SURKHET: A jeep accident in Rukum West killed five persons. According to the police, five persons perished on the spot in a jeep accident in the district’s Banphikot Rural Municipality.

According to the Rukum West Police, the victims were 70-year-old Karna Bahadur Budha Magar of Sani Bheri Municipality, 50-year-old Deuchan Khatri, 22-year-old Rekha Khanal of Banphkot-8, her son Roshan KC, and one other person from the same location.

A jeep (Lu 1 J 1747) which left from Sani Bheri Rural Municipality for Khalanga in Rukum West met with an accident on Thursday morning at 7 am in the morning.

The crash injured ten people. The jeep fell around 400 meters from the road, and the cause of the mishap remains unknown.
