Calendars published without approval, report to be submit to Home Ministry for action

KATHMANDU: Four calendars have been published without approval.

Four calendars were discovered to have been published without the authority of the Nepal Panchanga Nirnayak Bikash Samiti. Similarly, more than 200 wall calendars were discovered to have been published without authorisation.

Coordinator Murari Pandey stated that based on the initial monitoring of the committee’s monitoring subcommittee, it was discovered that such calendars and wall calendars were published without consent.

Jwala Panchangam, Vedic Panchangam, and others are inserted in the calendar without the agreement of the committee. He stated that the surveillance of published calendars and wall calendars is ongoing.

Surya Prasad Dhungel, executive director of the committee, informed that the sub-committee will conduct preliminary monitoring and submit its data to the monitoring committee headed by the head of the Culture Division of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation. It is said that the monitoring committee will submit the report to the Ministry of Home Affairs for legal action.

With the committee’s consent, 15 calendars and around 1000 wall calendars were published. To obtain information on the exact dates and festivals, the committee has urged that only calendars and wall calendars approved by the committee be used.
