DANG: The Film Development Board (FDB) has met with local officials to discuss the first National Children’s Film Festival, which will be place on Ahsad 1, 2, and 3 (June 16, 17, and 18) in Ghorahi, Dang district.

A team of four persons, including board spokesperson KL Budhathoki and board member secretary Tanka Bahadur Mahat, arrived in Dang and met with local stakeholders to discuss festival preparations.

Board spokesman and festival coordinator Budhathoki said that the festival is going to be held for the first time with the aim of promoting education and culture among children through movies and making them practice movies. “Educational and inspiring films related to children will be screened at the festival.

Children-related films from all over the country have been invited for the exhibition of long and short educational films related to children and made by children,” he said. He also claimed that the board is going to organize a festival with the aim of exploring the possibilities of the film far and wide.

Participants in the conversation stated that this festival would provide significant education to children and will play a key role in their creative growth, and that they will assist everyone in their own way. Dang district scholars, artists, writers, security personnel, educators, merchants, and journalists took part in the conversation.

Along with film screenings, the festival will feature an attendance-based film knowledge competition, a book exhibition, a picture exhibition, and a film dance competition. During the festival, a segment called ‘Bhuwan KC with Childrens’ will be organized, in which, in addition to local tableaux and cultural exhibitions, the board president and distinguished actor KC’s opening audio-visual material will be shown.
