Udayapur tipper accident: child dies, locals agitated
Angela, the 4-year-old daughter of local Nawaraj Rana Magar, died after being hit by a tipper (Madhesh Pradesh 2-03-0001 Kha 4309), according to authorities.
KATHMANDU: On Friday afternoon, locals protested the death of a girl due to a tipper collision in Lalbazar, Belaka Municipality-4, Udayapur.
Angela, the 4-year-old daughter of local Nawaraj Rana Magar, died after being hit by a tipper (Madhesh Pradesh 2-03-0001 Kha 4309), according to authorities.
According to the District Police Office Rampur, the child died on the spot while a tipper that was on its way to Rampur via Madan Bhandari Highway from Beltar.
Following the death of the child as a result of the tipper collision, enraged locals set fire to another tipper (State-2-01-001 K 0024) traveling from east to west on the Madan Bhandari route.
The tipper and driver, Tukraj Tamang, 23, of Katari Municipality-2, were arrested by the Rampur local police office, after the incidet.
