Policy & program: health insurance program to be reviewed
President Ram Chandra Poudel stated in his presentation of the policy and program to the Federal Parliament that a health center with basic health evaluation and treatment will be created in each ward.
KATHMANDU: The government intends to review the health insurance program.
Expanding access to high-quality health care for all residents is also addressed in the government’s policies and programs for the coming fiscal year.
President Ram Chandra Poudel stated in his presentation of the policy and program to the Federal Parliament that a health center with basic health evaluation and treatment will be created in each ward.
It is stated in the policy and program that it will provide basic healthcare services to disabled, helpless, and senior individuals in their homes.
President Poudel said, ‘Access to quality health services will be established for all citizens. The health insurance program will be reviewed. Telemedicine will be established as a center for excellence at the state level and telemedicine at the national and state levels.
Each ward will have a health clinic with basic health examinations and treatment.
Disabled, helpless, and senior persons will receive basic health care right at their door. Doctors working in community hospitals will be able to pursue further medical education. There will be a campaign against communicable diseases as well as particular programs for the treatment of noncommunicable diseases.
