KATHMANDU: A police team detained three people with a rhino horns at the Steel Tower of Lalitpur Metropolitan City-4 in the Lalitpur district.
They were found in possession of 297 milligrams of the horn.
Roshan Ghimire, 28, and Yuwaraj Ghimire, 24, of Bhawanipur of Rapti Municipality-5 in Chitwan district and currently residing in Ekantakuna, and Birendra Tamang, 28, of Rorang Rural Municipality-2 in Dhading district and currently residing in Naya Bazar, Kathmandu, were detained.
According to the Police Headquarter in Naxal, they were apprehended after a tip that they were smuggling rhino horn components.
The arrested individuals have been sent to the Division Forest Office in Godawari, Lalitpur, for further investigation into the case, said police.
