KATHMANDU: The Cartoonist Club of Nepal has organized a cartoon exhibition to raise awareness about road safety. To commemorate the United Nations World Road Safety Week, a cartoon exhibition named ‘Road Travel’ launched on Tuesday at the Nepal Art Council Gallery in Babar Mahal.

The exhibition will be on display for three days. Organizers have stated that awareness events will be organized at bus stations and major road crossings throughout the week in Kathmandu Valley.

The exhibition includes 30 cartoons created by Nepalese cartoonists ranging from senior to junior levels. A message against the tendency of reckless driving on the road has been delivered through cartoons.

Driving a motorcycle without a helmet, speeding, crossing the road lane, drinking alcohol while driving, taking drugs, using mobile phones, carrying more passengers, and other concerns create road accidents in the exhibition.

The cartoon also conveys the idea that great care should be exercised on the road for the disabled, the elderly, children, and the disabled.
