KATHMANDU: Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari laid a wreath during Madan Bhandari’s funeral.

On Memorial Day, former President Bhandari, who is also Madan Bhandari’s wife, planted a tree at the Madan Memorial Park in Tinkune.
Former President Bhandari also paid a visit to the Madan Bhandari Memorial Community Library, which is located close the Mahadevasthan.
Meanwhile, UML Chair KP Sharma Oli laid a wreath on Bhandari’s salik at the Madan-Ashrit memorial program in Madannagar Balkhu.
On 2050 Jestha 3 (17 June 1993), the then-UML General Secretary Bhandari and Ashrit, the head of the organization department, were killed in a jeep accident at Dasdhunga in Chitwan.
