Who presided over which parliamentary committee meeting?

KATHMANDU: Meetings of the House of Representatives’ ten thematic committees have taken place.

The meetings of the committees were held on Tuesday at their respective offices at Singha Durbar.

All committee meetings are presided over by the committee’s senior members. Arjun Narsingh KC, a senior member of the Nepali Congress, chairs the Public Accounts Committee, while Citizen Liberation Party MP Lalbir Chaudhary chairs the Infrastructure Development Committee.

International Relations and Tourism Committee was chaired by Rastriya Prajatantra Party MP Pashupati Shumsher JB Rana.

Ranendra Barailly, Member of Parliament of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist Centre) as President of Industry and Commerce and Labor and Consumer Welfare Committee, Janata Samajwadi Party MP Nawal Kishor Sah Sudi as President of Agriculture, Cooperative and Natural Resources Committee, Kaluram Rai, Member of Parliament of Nepal Communist Party (UML) as President of Education and Health Committee &  National People’s Front MP Chitra Bahadur KC as President of the State Order and Good Governance Committee.

The law, justice and human rights committee meeting was chaired by Nepali Congress MP Sher Bahadur Deuba, the women and social affairs committee was chaired by Rastriya Prajatantra Party MP Roshan Karki and the finance committee was chaired by Nepali Congress MP Santosh Chalise.

Speaker Dev Raj Ghimire asked to hold a meeting of all 10 committees of the House of Representatives today to convey the message that the parliamentary committees are united on issues of lawmaking and public concern.

Accordingly, a meeting of parliamentary committees was held today under the chairmanship of the senior members of the committee.
