KATHMANDU: Former Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand, who was arrested in connection with the bogus Bhutanese refugee case, has denied any involvement.

When asked if he would speak to the media while taking the case to court from the public prosecutor’s office on Sunday, Khan replied that he was not involved in the case.

The authorities arrested Khand on charge of converting Nepali civilians to Bhutanese refugees and transporting them to America.

The police have arrested 12 people including Khand, the then Home Secretary Tek Narayan Pandey, former Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa Badal’s advisor Indrajit Rai, Top Bahadur Rayamajhi’s son Sandeep in this case of making Nepalese citizens fake Bhutanese refugees and sending them to America.

UML leader and MP Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, a former Nepali Congress MP, Badal’s son Prateek and another 4 people are absconding for whom arrest warrants have been issued.
