Galchi: Hotel owner stabs a customer to death

DHADING: A customer who came to have lunch at a hotel managed in near Nibuwa Bote in Dhading’s Galchi Rural Municipality-8 near Galchi was stabbed to death.

Binod Thapa Magar, 27, of Galchi-8 Katalpauwa, was stabbed to death on Wednesday evening by 28-year-old Neeraj Pandit, the owner of ‘Sandar Hotel’ in Nibuwa Bote.

According to Police Inspector Dharmajit Thing, the culprit was apprehended at night. It is stated that after lunch, an altercation ensued with the hotel owner when paying the bill.

According to the authorities, after paying for the lunch, the two parties fought while demanding back the leftover cash. Pandit fled the scene of the crime.

Thapa Magar died while receiving treatment at Kathmandu’s Norvic Hospital.

Pandit and six others were detained, including his mother Saraswati. “The incident is under investigation,” stated police inspector Thing.

The Galchi-Trishuli road segment has been closed since last night due to the incident.
