Nobel upgrades its trauma & surgical intensive care units

KATHMANDU: The Nobel Teaching Hospital in Biratnagar has enhanced its trauma and surgical ICU services.

Complex patients with accidental injuries and surgery are treated in the trauma and surgical ICU.
Dr. Mukti Acharya, Deputy Hospital Director, reported that 15 beds have been added by enlarging and organizing the trauma and surgical ICUs. More beds, he said, will be added as needed. For the treatment of patients with difficult diseases, an ICU room with ventilators has been set aside.
Special treatment services are offered in conjunction with the professional doctors of all the surgery departments in this ICU, which is led by the anesthesia department.
Indira Sharma, Managing Director of Nobel Hospital, cut the ribbon and inaugurated the extension of services during a formal ceremony held at the hospital. Speaking on the event, Managing Director Sharma stated that the hospital’s services will be enhanced in order to provide superior treatment services to patients.

The Nobel contains 150 ICU beds and 67 ventilators among its 750 beds. In addition to patients from Nepal’s many districts, patients from India, the Maldives, Burma, and other countries seek treatment at Nobel.
