It is known whether or not the lottery has been won based on the confirmation code number received when filling out the DV.
To find out if you were chosen for DV, click to https://dvprogram.state.gov and input your confirmation number.
When registering for the application, applicants should submit their email address. However, selected individuals will not receive an email informing them of their selection.
Being selected for DV does not mean that everyone will get a visa.
If given the opportunity to interview for a visa, the consular officer will determine whether or not the required qualifications are met and whether the applicant is eligible for DV under US immigration law.
