KATHMANDU: One of the five people hurt in the Simrik Air chopper crash has died.

Bhabin Gurung, who was critically hurt in the crash, died as a result of his injuries.

According to him, four individuals on board the chopper were critically hurt.

The helicopter crashed into a tree in Hammaredanda of Sikprung in Hatiya at 1:10 p.m. today, according to DSP Birendra Godar of District Police Office Sankhuwasabha.

The deceased Gurung was a chopper helper.

Captain Surendra Poudel, co-pilot Chiring Bhote, another assistant Manoj Thapa and Nepal Electricity Authority employee Bikram Shankar were seriously injured in the crash.

They have been flown to Kathmandu for treatment.
