Simrik Air chopper crash: 5 injured including pilot, 3 critical

KATHMANDU: A Simrik Air chopper crashed at Bhotkhola-4 Hammaredanda near Sankhuwasabha, injuring five people, including the pilot.

According to Bhogendra Shrestha, administrative officer of the Sankhuwasabha district administration office, two of the injured people are in critical condition.

The incident injured the pilot, co-pilot, chopper team member Chiring Bhote, and villagers Bhabin Gurung and Surendra Poudel.

Another Simrik Air chopper and a Nepalese Army chopper are being prepared to transport the injured.

According to the Nepali Army’s spokesperson, Assistant Lieutenant General Krishna Prasad Bhandari, the Nepali Army has despatched 11 people along with a chopper to the incident site to rescue the civilians.

According to Simrik Air officials, the chopper was transporting supplies to the Upper Arun Hydropower Project site.

The chopper crashed during landing.
