Simrik Air chopper crash: 2 critically wounded, including pilot, flown to Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: Two people, including the pilot, were seriously injured in a Simrik Air chopper crash.

According to the ward chair of Bhotkhola Rural Municipality, another Simrik Air helicopter and a Nepali Army helicopter are actively rescuing victims of the disaster.

He stated that preparation are being made to rescue both injured individuals and transport them to Kathmandu.

He stated that both injured were in critical condition owing to head traumas.

According to the District Police Office, five people were hurt in the crash.

Captain Surendra Paudel piloted the 9N-AJZ chopper carrying four passengers.

According to Simrik Air officials, injured captain Poudel and one passenger flown to Kathmandu.

Simrik Air’s helicopter was hauling samples, including stones and dirt, for the Upper Arun Hydropower Project’s lab test.

Tribhuvan International Airport’s Spokesperson, Teknath Sitaula, informed that the helicopter had been out of contact with the Tumlingtar Airport since morning.
