Tanahun truck crash update: 11 injured, roads blocked
Following the accident, local residents blocked the road, according to Bandipur Rural Municipality-5 Ward Chair Dhurva Prasad Lamichhane.
KATHMANDU: The Yampa-Aanbu Khaireni road of Bandipur Rural Municipality of Tanahun has been blocked under the Prithviraj Highway.
The roadway was closed this morning after eleven people were injured in a truck crash in Bandipur Rural Municipality-5 Yampa Aadhi Khola.
Eleven individuals were injured in the collision of the truck (Na 4Kha 1973) traveling from Dumre to Muglin, including students sitting on the side of the road and those at home.
Following the accident, local residents blocked the road, according to Bandipur Rural Municipality-5 Ward Chair Dhurba Prasad Lamichhane.
The truck was also vandalized by the locals. A large number of armed police officers and Nepal Police have been dispatched to the location.
According to Mohan Bahadur Khan, deputy police officer of District Police Office Tanahun, all of the injured have been transported to Chitwan Medical College for treatment.
The house was damaged due to the collision of the truck and the students who were waiting for the bus to go to school were also injured.
“The truck skidded off and overshot the road hitting and injuring pedestrians on the roadside,” an official stated.
