Lumbini State CM Chaudhary gets vote of confidence

Chaudhary, who was appointed Chief Minister on the 14th Baisakh (April 27), obtained a majority in the State Assembly on Tuesday for the resolution he introduced asking for a vote of confidence.

KATHMANDU: The newly appointed Chief Minister of Lumbini State, Dilli Bahadur Chaudhary, has received a vote of confidence from the State Assembly.

Chaudhary, who was appointed Chief Minister on the 14th Baisakh (April 27), obtained a majority in the State Assembly on Tuesday for the resolution he introduced asking for a vote of confidence.

There were 53 votes in support of Chaudhary’s motion and 29 votes against it.

In Lumbini, a new government has been formed in collaboration with the countries that comprise the federal government’s power coalition.

The Maoist Centre, Nagarik Unmukti Party, Janata Samajwadi Party, Democratic Socialist Party, Janamat Party, CPN Unified Socialist Party, Rastriya Janamorcha, and Independent MPs have given Chaudhary their support.

CPN-UML MPs voted against his proposal.
