Nepal qualifies for Asia Cup defeating UAE

KATHMANDU: Nepal qualified for the Asia Cup by winning the crucial match.

Nepal qualified for the Asia Cup by defeating UAE by 68 runs in the ACC Premier Cup final.

Nepal achieved the general target of 118 runs in 30.3 overs, losing three wickets. Gulshan Jha scored 67 runs for Nepal, while Bhim Sarki scored 36 runs.

Prior to it, Gulshan Jha and Bhim Sarki shared a superb unbeaten 96-run partnership when Nepal lost three successive wickets. Gulshan and Bhim batted patiently to give Nepal victory after accumulating 22 runs and losing two wickets.

Prior to that, Nepal’s captain Rohit Poudel was dismissed after scoring one run, Kushal Bhurtel was dismissed after scoring one run, and Asif Sheikh was dismissed after scoring eight runs.

Junaid Siddique of the UAE scored 10 runs, Asif Khan 46, Zahoor Khan 0, Ayan Khan 5, Basil Hamid 10, Rameez Shahzad 1, Aryan Lakra 13, Vriitya Aravind 8, and captain Mohammad Wasim 11.

Lalit Rajbanshi has taken the most wickets for Nepal, with four. In 7.1 overs, Lalit grabbed four wickets for 14 runs with two maidens.

Similarly, Karan KC and Sandeep Lamichhane each claimed two wickets, while Sompal Kami and Gulshan Jhal each took one.

The winner Nepal has confirmed the meeting with India and Pakistan in the Asia Cup. Nepal made it to the Asia Cup for the first time since 2002.
