KATHMANDU: Dilli Bahadur Chaudhary, the leader of the Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party, has been appointed Chief Minister of Lumbini State.
He was appointed as Chief Minister today, Thursday, with the support of 52 MPs from eight parties and one independent.
Amik Sherchan, the state’s head, named Chaudhary as Chief Minister in accordance with Article 168 2 of the Constitution.
Leela Giri, the UML’s Chief Minister since Poush 27 (Jan 12), was removed from office after failing to secure a vote of confidence.
