RPP Nepal Chair Thapa spent Rs 1.5 million on election campaigns

KATHMANDU: The Chair of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RPP) Nepal, Kamal Thapa, has disclosed to the Election Commission (EC) that he spent more than 1.5 million rupees in the House of Representatives (HoR) election in Mangsir (Nov/Dec).

Chair Thapa, who ran for election from Makwanpur Constituency No. 1 with the ‘Sun’ emblem on Mangsir 4 (Nov 20), submitted the details of spending 1,537,340 to the Election Commission.

According to details provided by Thapa’s election representative Rajaram Bartaula, Rs. 2 lakhs was spent on vehicles, Rs. 3 lakhs on liaison office operations, Rs. 2 lakhs on conference and interaction, Rs. 4 lakhs on representative mobilization, Rs. 177,900 on promotional materials, and Rs. 259,440 on print and electronic media.
