Pre-budget discussion in Biratnagar, ‘Need a budget to improvethe economy,’ say businessman

BIRATNAGAR: The industrial trade association and industry group Morang of Koshi State have proposed that Finance Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat present the budget while bearing businessmen’s needs in mind.

On Thursday, businesses suggested that the impending budget challenges should be made easy in a program conducted by the Ministry of Finance, Revenue Consultative Committee with the assistance of industry group Morang and Morang Trade Association in Biratnagar.

Nabin Rijal and Suyash Pyakurel, President of the Koshi State Level Pre-Budget Discussion and Interaction Program Association, presented the Finance Minister and Finance Secretary with a recommendation letter written jointly by the association and the organization.

Businessmen have proposed resolving industrial sector challenges and bringing a budget that people can feel. As the situation is grave, participating industrialists urged bringing a budget to help the economy.

Suyash Pyakurel, head of the industrial organization Morang, emphasized the importance of the government being serious about constructing much-needed physical infrastructure in Biratnagar and completing unfinished business.

According to Nabin Rijal, President of Morang Business Association, the industrial sector is disappointed that the Biratnagar-Bathanaha railway has not been completed after 18 years of work. He demanded that an environment be created so that it could be used immediately.
