Those attempted to disrupt Oli’s event were apprehended by police: Home Minister Shrestha

KATHMANDU: The police, according to Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha, have arrested people who attempted to disturb the Wednesday program in Jhapa, in which UML Chair KP Sharma Oli participated.

The head whip of the UML, Padam Giri, highlighted the issue of stone-pelting in the program in which Oli will participate. While responding, Shrestha stated this.

“The police have already arrested one person who tried to disrupt Chair Oli’s program,” he stated.

He also stated that two police officers were injured during the altercation with the protesters. He stated that the government is fighting to defend the right to organize programs and move freely.
