KATHMANDU: Rabi Lamichhane of the Rastriya Swatantra Party has maintained his lead in the Chitwan Constituency No. 2 vote counting.

Currently, votes are being counted in Wards 1 and 3 of the Ichcha Kamana Rural Municipality.

Rabi received 1,492 votes, while Ram Prasad Neupane of UML received 1,733 votes.

Congress’s Jeet Narayan Shrestha received 795 votes from the alliance.

Lamichhane was elected from this constituency in the Nov 20 election. He was relieved of his post after his citizenship was disputed.

Lamichhane got 49,264 votes in the election where 83,956 people voted at that time. He won by the widest margin across the country.

This time, 78,277 votes have been cast in this constituency where there are 124,695 voters.
