Chitwan-2: Rabi took the lead, followed by Ram Prasad

KATHMANDU: Rabi Lamichhane of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has gained the lead in Chitwan Constituency No. 2.

The votes of first and third Wards of Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality are now being counted.

Rabi received 1,155 votes, while Ram Prasad Neupane of UML received 6,65 votes.

Congress’s Jeet Narayan Shrestha received 588 votes from the alliance.

Lamichhane was elected from this constituency in the Nov 20 election. He was relieved of his post after his citizenship was disputed.

Lamichhane got 49,264 votes in the election where 83,956 people voted at that time. He won by the widest margin across the country.

This time, 78,277 votes have been cast in this constituency where there are 124,695 voters.
