KATHMANDU: Upendra Yadav maintains his lead in the vote count in Bara.
The counting of votes for the by-election of members of the House of Representatives is currently underway in wards 1 and 2 in Karaiyamai Rural Municipality of Bara-2.
Yadav received 513 votes. He is the JSP candidate for the ruling coalition.
Similarly, Shiva Chandra Prasad Kushwaha, who left the Maoist Centre to run for the CK Raut-led Janamat Party, secured the second position by securing 485 votes.
UML candidate Purushottam Paudel got 420 votes while RSP candidate Ramesh Kharel got 207 votes.
