Chitwan-2: Ram Prasad’s initial lead, followed by Rabi

KATHMANDU: UML’s Ram Prasad Neupane has taken the initial lead in Chitwan Constituency No 2 counting.

Currently, counting of votes has started from Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality ward 1 and 3.

Ram Prasad Neupane from UML has got 367 votes. Rabi Lamichhane from the Rastriya Swatantra Party got 319 votes and Jeet Narayan Shrestha from the Democratic Left Alliance got 244 votes.

Lamichhane was elected from this Constituency in the Nov 20 election. He was relieved of his post after his citizenship was disputed.

Lamichhane got 49,264 votes in the election where 83,956 people voted at that time. He won by the widest margin across the country.

This time, 78,277 votes have been cast in this constituency where there are 124,695 voters.
