KATHMANDU: Upendra Yadav’s lead remains in Bara’s vote count.

Upendra Yadav, the candidate for Bara-2, has seized the early lead in the counting of ballots for the House of Representatives by-election.

Upendra received 458 votes out of a total of 670. He is the JSP candidate for the ruling coalition.

Similarly, Shiva Chandra Prasad Kushwaha, who quit the Maoist Centre to run for the CK Raut-led Janamat Party, secured the second position by securing 360 votes.

Purushottam Poudel of the UML received 317 votes, while Ramesh Kharel of the RSP received 179 votes.
