Sandeep’s case hearing begins
The final hearing of the case has been scheduled for the fourth appearance before Judge Deepak Dhakal's bench.

KATHMANDU: The extortion case of cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane has begun. The hearing in the case began at 2.30 p.m. in District Court Kathmandu.
The final hearing of the case has been scheduled for the fourth appearance before Judge Deepak Dhakal’s bench.
All previous cases have been ordered. In Sandeep’s instance, it’s unclear whether the order will arrive today or not.
There is also a chance that the argument will be drawn out due to the enormous number of advocates on both sides. Senior lawyers Shambhu Thapa and Raman Shrestha, as well as advocate Saroj Krishna Ghimire, will argue.
Previously, on Friday, debate of the doctor who treated the girl and a cricketer was done. The matter is now being decided. A girl filed a rape allegation against him last August. On Oct 7, Sandeep was arrested and jailed.
On Nov 15, the district court in Kathmandu ordered him to be detained for preliminary investigation. However, after over three months in prison, the High Court ruled that he be released for the final hearing of the case.
Sandeep is now out of jail while the case is being heard, according to the Supreme Court’s decision. If he is found guilty by the court, he will be returned to jail. If the district court’s order is not followed, both parties will be able to appeal to the higher and Supreme Courts.
