According to District Election Officer Bhimsen Karki, the counting of votes, which was supposed to be done from 1 pm, has been delayed for some time.
The counting of ballots began in Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality, according to Dol Prasad Aryal, RSP’s deputy chair.
In this constituency, 22 candidates along with Jeet Narayan Shrestha of the Congress from the Democratic Left Alliance, Ram Prasad Neupane from the UML and Rabi Lamichhane from the Rastriya Swatantra Party are competing here. Lamichhane was elected from this constituency in the Nov 20 election. He was relieved of his post after his citizenship was disputed.
Lamichhane got 49,264 votes in the election where 83,956 people voted at that time. He won by the widest margin across the country.
This time, 78,277 votes have been cast in this constituency where there are 124,695 voters.
