KATHMANDU: The counting of votes for the House of Representatives by-election held on Sunday in Tanahun-1 is still ongoing.

Swarnim Wagle, the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) candidate, has received 11,000 votes, according to the most recent figures. So far, he has secured 11,428 votes.

Nepali Congress candidate Govinda Bhattarai, who is following Wagle, has secured 6,465 votes.

Bhattarai, who was previously trailing Wagle by double digits, has recently narrowed the vote deficit. The vote difference between him and Wagle is now 4,963.

Sarbendra Khanal of the CPN-UML is in third position with 3,747 votes. The Tanahun-1 by-election on Sunday received 63,757 votes.
