KATHMANDU: Oman defeated Malaysia by eight wickets in the ACC Premier Cup one-day cricket tournament.

Oman chased down the winning target of 228 runs given by Malaysia in today’s match at Mulpani Cricket Ground, losing two wickets in 41.4 overs.

Jitendar Singh contributed the most 101 runs for Oman. He contributed an unbeaten 501 runs in 111 balls with the help of 13 fours and one six.

Similarly, Kashyap Prajapati scored 66 runs and Zeeshan Maqsood scored 52 runs. On the bowling side, Mohammad Amir of Malaysia took two wickets.

Before that, Malaysia, who lost the toss and batted first, scored 227 runs after losing nine wickets in the scheduled 50 overs.

Virandeep Singh contributed the most for Malaysia with 94 runs while Muhamad Syahadat scored 55 runs.

Oman’s Zeeshan Maqsood grabbed four wickets, while Ayan Khan and Bilal Khan both took two.
