Adhikari, a ward president of Kirtipur-4 dies in an accident
Adhikari on his way to manage the fair at Champa Devi Temple in Kirtipur on Baisakh 1 (April 14) was involved in a motorcycle accident at around 10:30 a.m. at Pushpalal Park in Kirtipur.
KATHMANDU: Shyam Kumar Adhikari, Ward President of Kirtipur Municipality Ward No. 4, has died. Adhikari, who was engaged in a car accident, died during treatment at Annapurna Neuro Hospital in Maitighar, Kathmandu.
Although his health improved throughout therapy, he died on Sunday due to a sudden spike in blood pressure.
Adhikari on his way to manage the fair at Champa Devi Temple in Kirtipur on Baisakh 1 (April 14) was involved in a motorcycle accident at around 10:30 a.m. at Pushpalal Park in Kirtipur.
The motorcycle (Ba 83 P 9448) was involved in an accident on the way downhill.
The Adhikari who had reached at the fair experienced a cramp in his leg. Following the cramp in his leg, his friend Manoj Budhathoki rided him back to home on a motorcycle, where the incident occurred on the way down. They were both hurt when the motorcycle hit a rock while traveling downhill due to brake failure of motorcycle.
Locals discovered them both unconscious and rushed them to the hospital. His body is being prepared for transport to the teaching hospital for an autopsy.
Adhikari was elected Ward President as an independent candidate in last year’s municipal elections.
