Captain Wasim & Vriitya’s stunning century set Singapore a target of 472 runs

KATHMANDU: Along with captain Mohammad Wasim’s and Vriitya Aravind’s blazing centuries, UAE has set Singapore a massive target of 472 runs in the ACC Premier Cup.

Vriitya Aravind of the UAE scored 174 runs off 133 balls, with 17 fours and seven sixes. He was catch out at deep cover by Abdul Rahman on the third delivery of Ramesh Kalimuthu’s 48th over, denying him the chance to complete his double century.
Vriitya scored 185 runs with 17 fours and 9 sixes in 147 balls against Kuwait at TU ground in the previous match.
Similarly, Mohammad Wasim, the skipper, was removed for 160 runs off 82 balls, with 9 fours and 16 sixes. He was caught at third man by Manpreet Singh in the fifth ball of Aditya Bhargava’s 28th over, denying him a double century.
Wasim’s half-century came in 34 balls. He hit his century in 62 balls. He hit 150 runs in 78 balls. Vritya, on the other hand, completed a half-century in 52 balls, a century in 96 balls, and 150 runs in 126 balls.
Vriitya Arvind and Mohammad Wasim shared a 246-run partnership for the second wicket. Arya Lakra, the young opener, was removed for 12 runs off 7 balls with two fours. Rameez Shahzad was dismissed for a duck. Aasif Khan was out for 11 runs, and Rohan Mustafa was out for three.
Ayan Khan and Vriitya Arvind shared 151 runs for the sixth wicket. Ayan Khan was removed for 74 runs off 50 balls, with nine fours and three sixes. UAE missed out on a chance to score 500 runs after scoring 17 runs in the last 16 balls and losing five wickets. Aditya Bhargava of Singapore took four wickets and allowed 85 runs in eight overs.
Vinoth Baskaran grabbed two wickets and scored 61 runs in ten overs. Manpreet Singh took one wicket and scored 56 runs in eight overs. Thilipan batted for 99 runs in 9 overs. Ramesh grabbed three wickets, while Kalimuthu scored 73 runs in eight overs.
