Voting begins to elect three members of HoR
Voting has started simultaneously in different polling stations of Bara 2, Chitwan 2 and Tanahun 1.

KATHMANDU: The Election Commission said that voting has started in all the three constituencies.
Voting has started simultaneously in different polling stations of Bara 2, Chitwan 2 and Tanahun 1.
According to Guru Prasad Wagle, Assistant Spokesperson of the Commission, voting will continue till 5 pm today. The commission has called on people to attend their designated polling stations and cast their votes.
By-elections are about to be held after Tanahun 1 member of the House of Representatives Ram Chandra Poudel was elected President and Bara 2’s Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav was elected Vice President. By-elections are about to be held after the MP post of Chitwan 2 member Rabi Lamichhane was revoked due to the citizenship dispute.
In the by-election, there are 69 candidates, 9 candidates for Tanahun 1, 24 candidates for Chitwan 2 and 36 candidates for Bara 2.
The government has given a public holiday today in all the three areas where the by-elections will be held. A public holiday has been given to the schools and government agencies in the area where polling stations are located from 8th to 10th of Baisakh (April 21-23).
