Today, on the occasion of Ramadan, people gathered in Kathmandu to perform namaz at Kasmiri Masjid near Ghantaghar.
By glancing at the moon, one month of fasting is performed. Fasting began on the Friday following the appearance of the moon on March 25. Today, the Muslim community is celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr (Eid) by exchanging congratulations in celebration of the conclusion of Ramadan.
The festival of Eid, which is determined based on the movement of the moon, is celebrated the day after the first sighting of the moon in Shukla Paksha, which begins after the end of Ramadan.
It is common to break the fast with Sehri light food in the morning and then fast for the rest of the day after sundown.
According to the Urdu calendar, Ramadan is the ninth month of Hijri year 1444.
The greatest book of Muslims, the Quran, is believed to have been revealed during the month of Ramadan, and Allah’s thankfulness is shown during this month.
