KATHMANDU: Nepal’s spinner Sandeep Lamichhane has completed 100 wickets in One Day International (ODI) cricket.

Sandeep’s 100th wicket came against Oman in the ACC Premier Cup. Sandeep also owns the global record for the fastest 100-wicket haul in one-day internationals.

Rashid Khan of Afghanistan previously held the record for taking 100 wickets in the fewest ODIs. Khan took 100 wickets in 44 ODIs. Sandeep has 100 wickets in 42 ODIs, breaking the mark established by Khan in 2018.

Mitchell Starc of Australia is third, with Khan in second position. Starc took 100 wickets in 52 One-Day Internationals.

Sandeep is Nepal’s leading ODI wicket-taker. Sompal Kami has taken the most wickets from Nepal in ODIs after Sandeep. Sompal has 61 wickets in 44 games.

Sandeep made his ODI debut on August 1, 2018, in Nepal’s first match. Sandeep has captained Nepal in 14 One-Day Internationals (ODIs). Sandeep has taken 85 wickets in 43 T20 International matches.
