KATHMANDU: A child died after being bitten by a deadly snake near Siraha.

Avinash, a four-year-old son of Shyam Sah of Bhaiji, Golbazar Municipality-8, died after being bitten by a snake.

The child was bitten by a snake while playing at his house on Thursday. According to medical personnel, the child died owing to the delay in getting him to treatment.

The child, who had been bitten by a snake, was initially sent to the Nepalese Army’s Sri Bahadur Sher Gan in Chohwa, Siraha, for treatment.

He was transported to Phulkumari Hospital in Karjanha, Siraha for further treatment after treatment was not possible there.

However, local journalist Ram Bharosi Yadav informed that the child died during treatment.

Snake bites have begun to occur in Terai-Madhesh areas as the temperature rises in the summer.

According to doctors, if a patient gets bitten by a poisonous snake and is not sent to the hospital immediately, the danger of death is significant.
