3 killed, 2 injured in bus-rickshaw collision in Pakistan’s Punjab

ISLAMABAD: At least three people were killed and two others injured on Thursday in a collision between a bus and a rickshaw in Kot Addu district in the south of Pakistan’s eastern Punjab province, the rescue service reported.

The accident took place in the morning when an over-speeding passenger bus heading to the capital Islamabad from the southern port city of Karachi hit the rickshaw on the Jhang Road in the district, resulting in the casualties of the people who were present in the rickshaw.

The rescue workers reached the site and shifted the victims to a local hospital, the rescue service added.

Road accidents frequently happen in Pakistan due to poorly maintained roads, violation of road safety rules, and reckless driving.
