Karnali: Four newly appointed ministers took oath

SURKHET: The Karnali state government’s four freshly nominated ministers have taken the oath of office and confidentiality.
The oath was administered by state chief minister Tilak Pariyar.
Bedraj Singh, Khadga Bahadur Pokharel, and Krishna Kumar BC, all from the Congress party, have been sworn in as ministers of economic affairs and planning, social development, and industry, tourism, forest, and environment, respectively.
Likewise, Urmila Bishwakarma of the Maoist party, who had previously been appointed Minister of State for Physical Infrastructure, been sworn in as Minister of Water Resources and Energy Development.
According to the agreement between CPN UML and Maoist on Jan 13, it was decided to merge the ministry into physical infrastructure.
However, Vishwakarma, who was the Minister of State, was appointed Minister of Water Resources and Energy after the Council of Ministers meeting on Tuesday evening resolved to create all 8 ministries.
The swearing-in, which was supposed to take place on Wednesday, was stopped due to pressure from the Congress Centre.
Chief Minister Raj Kumar Sharma had appointed the minister as per Article 168, Clause 9 of the Constitution.
