Man dies of bus hit in Itahari

KATHMANDU: A bus crash in Itahari has resulted in the death of a man.

A 45-year-old man, whose identity were not disclosed, died on Wednesday afternoon after being hit by a bus (State-1-02-001 Kha 8522) on the road of Sunsari, Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City-20 Tarahra.

He was seriously injured in the collision and died during treatment at B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan.

Local eyewitnesses said that the bus struck a homeless man who was holding a stone in his hand and appeared to have lost his mental equilibrium.

The police arrested the bus involved in the incident and its driver, 55-year-old Dhuranlal Chaudhary of Itahari-9, and is investigating the incident further.
