By-election: Silence period to begins from midnight today

KATHMANDU: The silence period of the election to the Member of the by-election commences from 12 midnight today.

Beginning at 12:00 tonight, no campaigning will be permitted, according to Surya Prasad Aryal, Assistant Spokesperson for the Election Commission.

Campaigning for by-elections can be done only till 12 midnight on April 20.

Following that, no campaigning is permitted, the speaker declared. 48 hours before the election, campaigning is not allowed.

By-elections will be held in Bara Constituency No. 2, Chitwan Constituency No. 2 and Tanahun Constituency No. 1 on the April 23.
