Names of 74 candidates not submitting election expenses published
Candidates have been obliged to publicize the details of their expenses within seven days and to submit the same information to the respective state-district election office.

KATHMANDU: The Election Commission published a list of 74 candidates who ran in the House of Representatives election on Nov 20 but did not file their cost reports on time.
The Commission has decided to publish the list of 74 candidates, including 37 candidates for the House of Representatives and 37 candidates for the State Assembly, and ask for an explanation from those candidates.
Candidates have been obliged to publicize the details of their expenses within seven days and to submit the same information to the respective state-district election office.
According to the Election (Offenses and Punishment) Act, 2073, 2,373 members of the House of Representatives and 3,188 candidates of the State Assembly, including 5,561 candidates, have been instructed to submit the details of election expenses within 35 days from the date of publication of the final results of the election.
Political parties, candidates, or their representatives must submit the details of election expenses to the commission or the office designated by the commission within 35 days of the announcement of the election results, according to the House of Representatives Member Election Act, State Assembly Member Election Act, 2074.
